I'm participating in the Give Books for Christmas Giveaway Hop, hosted by Inksplasher.

What's a Give Books for Christmas Giveaway Hop? It's a group of bloggers who are giving away books as prizes!

The hop runs from December 1 through the 15th. All books will be shipped on December 16th. We can't guarantee books will arrive in time for Christmas, but we're going to give it a good try!

I'm giving away a copy of my Santa Bingo Game. This book comes as a printable pdf file, with 12 playing cards and 50 image cards.

Basic Styles

This post shows the basic style variations for your blog. In this paragraph, I am using the default font, size and line spacing. I like the Lucida Grande because it's easy to read. However, you have a variety of font options to choose from:

Arial
Courier
Georgia
Lucida Grande
Times
Trebuchet
Verdana

Once your design is installed, you can change your default font and size using the Layout/Fonts & Colors controls. (Note the bolding.)

You can play around with those controls, but unless you understand CSS and HTML, I recommend that you DO NOT make changes to the actual code (found in Layout/HTML). (Note the italics.)

LINKS
For example, links. Don't click this link because it may change—link to somewhere. You can have your links in all caps or regular text; you can have them underlined or not; you can have them change color after a reader clicks on them.

Click this link then come back to this page: link to somewhere. Did the link change? It may or may not change, depending on the current default settings of this blog. Let me know how you want your links to work.

POST IMAGES
Images for you blog can have a border or not. I like a border around my images. It adds a little visual excitement and sets the images off.

Borders can be thin or fat; a solid, dashed or dotted line. You can also have a space between the image and the border, as shown here. (Unless I've temporarily adjusted it for client approval.)

Please note that if you choose to frame your images AND you use a signature, it will also put a frame around the signature image. Nothing we can do about that. Consider creating a signature that allows for a frame as part of the overall look.

If you want your signature without a border, we have to turn off the border feature for all post images.

BLOCKQUOTES
Blockquotes are text that are indented from both sides. There's an easy-to-use blockquote button in the compose menu for your posts.

Blockquotes can be naked, like this one:

This will display as a "naked" blockquote—which means it's indented on both sides with no background color or frame. UNLESS I've customized it for client approval. Then it will be dressed up in fancy clothes.

We need some extra text here so you can get a good idea of what a blockquote looks like. That is why I've added an extra paragraph.

Or they can have a colored background with frame around them, like the ones at this site. (The block quote is the book blurb in the tan box with the dotted dark brown frame.)
